WOODLAND cemetery POLICIES
No lot enclosures such as fences, hedges, curbs, and the like shall be hereinafter constructed.
All graves shall be level with the ground, covered with top soil and seeded as necessary. No planted flowers in the cemetery.
No automobiles, trucks, wagons, snowmobiles or other motor vehicles shall drive on any cemetery lots, except those vehicles used in cemetery maintenance by the Township of Irondale.
No advertising of any form shall be displayed in the cemetery.
No flowers or shrubs either wild or cultivated shall be picked, removed or damaged in the cemetery.
No liquor of any kind shall be consumed in the cemetery.
No littering of premises will be allowed in the cemetery.
No persons shall open or close any grave except under supervision of Irondale Township.
No person shall make any excavation, set any mound, set or reset any monument without getting written permission of Irondale Township.
All burials shall be in permanent vaults or constructed of permanent materials into which the casket is deposited.
No single grave site shall be sold by the Township from a 2, 4, or 8 grave sites. Single sites shall be sold from the available single lots.
Full size grave sites will have no more than 3 cremains and one monument or stone per lot.
Cremains section 4’x4’ lots shall allow 2 cremains with all markers at ground level.
Veterans Section – All lots are free. Veterans or family may pick out lot where veteran & spouse may be buried.
Veteran monuments must be upright and spouse’s head stone must be same style as Veterans.
All Veterans VA stone monuments shall be set on concrete pads on all lots in the cemetery. Open/Close charges apply.
Sale of cemetery lots in Woodland Cemetery shall be available to residents & non-residents of Irondale Township.
No one will be permitted to purchase cemetery lots for the purpose of resale or speculation.
Owners wishing to sell unused lots may sell them back to the Township at no more than the initial purchase price.
Monuments are to be placed on a slab of concrete or stone a minimum of 4 inches thick, with 4 to 6 inches extending around the edge of the monument at ground level for mowing purposes.
In the event a monument or stone is damaged or defaced through acts of vandalism or necessary burial preparation Irondale Township shall not be held liable for any damage.
Irondale Township shall not be held responsible for maintenance of monuments, stones or markers.
No vehicle shall drive through the cemetery at more than 15 miles per hour.
Driving on grass is absolutely not allowed. Drive on roads provided.
No pets shall be permitted in the cemetery at any time.
Maintenance – Spring clean-up shall begin as early in the year as weather permits.
Mowing to be done when it exceeds 4 inches in length, a minimum of once per week.
Trimming to be done weekly around all monuments, trees, etc.
Pruning, brush and debris to be removed weekly or as needed.
